Burn the witch and un-finished symphony comparison.

Unfinished symphony used their video to represent street life to raise awareness of what a lower class neighborhood in los angles looked like uninterrupted where as Burn the Witch uses characters from a popular children's television show to show part of the narrative from the movie the wicker man which is intertextuality, the two story lines of the children television show and the wicker man juxtaposes ecahother. Burn the witch shows the characters from the popular television show to reveal a picturesque town which through out the video slowly shows how they are more and more psychotic because at the start of the video the towns people seemed normal and doing chores that an olden day town would do like mowing a lawn but the their were clues as the video went on such as a calf in a a pie.
It had intertextuality which means that the audience wouldn't understand it unless they had seen the wicker man and the children's television show whereas unfinished symphony showed what a real lower class street looked like in America. Unfinished symphony did it in one take where as burn the witch used many takes as they were characters molded out of a material like clay, they then had to take many still pictures of them and put them together to create a video which seemed like the clay figures moving which is called stop motion animation. Similarly they showed how normal people would act in their settings for example in Burn the Witch and what people who lived in a typically old fashioned village would do at the start of the video for example they had a town meeting in the town square also they it showed someone mowing there front lawn where as unfinished symphony wanted to show people what a low class area in los angles looked like to show their audience what it looks like uninterrupted because they want to raise awareness to show people how they need to support each other neighborhoods like this because they dont have the privileges that most other neighborhoods have for example their was a disabled man using a skateboard instead of having a wheel chair also instead of an actual fence their was a metal one which someone could easily climb over.
This was shown through mise en scene for example in unfinished symphony the gang at the start of the video were wearing tank tops denim jackets and jeans to show that they were part of a gang where as in burn the witch even though they were play dough people they represented a village in the 1950's which is shown by the clothes that they were wearing, the tasks such as farming and the old fashioned houses and cars. Unlike unfinished symphony burn the witch portrayed a narrative, the story started off with an old fashioned town but as the video progressed it showed clues that the towns people were not as typical as the audience presumed at the start of the video and showed clues such as some of the towns people performing a dance with knives around a a women who was tied to a tree and the bakery having a barely cooked carcus in the pie at the end of the video it showed a large wooden sculpture which the person who was inspecting the town got tricked into going into and was thought to off been burned alive where as unfinished symphony had characters such as a farther and son and people moving furniture.
