Who are massive attack

Massive attack is a trip hop group from Bristol which was formed in 1988. The members in it were Robert Del Naja, grant marshal and Andy Vowles which has left.


Their album blue lines

Blu lines is their debut album and had the song unfinished symphony which reached the charts. It came out in 1991 and took eight months to create, also unfinished symphony got voted 63rd greatest song on a poll. It reached 13th on the British album charts. A music critic Simon Reynolds said that i changed dance/electronic music, he said that "it shifts toward a more interior, mediation sound"


The music video unfinished symphony

The music video used one continuing shot which is what made the video famous. The video used a singer which walked down new Hampshire street which was in Los Angeles. Not all of the people in the music video were actors  for example the gang at the beginning were residents of the town which added to the street life feel of the video. The music video consisted of the vocalist which walked down the street which was unfazed by the people she walked past as she sang to the song.

Post punk

Post punk is a denoting style of rock music which is a less aggressive style of music which is more experimental. Artists were determined to separate from the cliches of rock music and experimented with music such as electronic music, jazz and disco. The early post punk groups alongside massive attack were joy division and gang of four. It used to be called "new music".
